Lansweeper assets: what you can change from SweepTag, and what you cannot

The Lansweeper integration is deliberately **read-only** for asset data, which surprises people who expect to edit in the app. Worth knowing where the line sits.

**From SweepTag you can:** browse and search assets across sites, view the detail (30+ fields), generate barcodes for them, create a custom field, and write barcode values back into that custom field.

**You cannot:** create or delete assets, edit standard fields, reassign ownership, or run bulk operations.

That is not an oversight — writing back into a system of record deserves more care than a barcode app should take on its own.

Asset edits belong in Lansweeper; SweepTag picks the changes up on its next query. The one thing SweepTag does write is barcode values, into a custom field it creates for the purpose.
